Emile Francis is a former player, coach and general manager in the NHL. He is most notably remembered for his time with the New York Rangers organization.
Emile got his start as a goalie in 1947 with the Chicago Blackhawks. He spent the next 4 seasons as a backup goal tender for the Rangers.
In 1945, Emile was the first goal tender to use a first baseman's glove with a cuff added to protect his hand and wrist.
Emile was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982.
He signed a card through his home address in 25 days.
